Stampede in India Kills at Least 147 Pilgrims

NEW DELHI — A religious festival in northern India turned into a horrific deadly crush on Tuesday as thousands of Hindu pilgrims stampeded at a temple shrine, piling into each other on a treacherous walkway slick with spilled coconut milk. Officials said at least 147 people, mostly men, suffocated.

WHAT?

I’m sure this really happened, but it doesn’t seem real to me because I have nothing to compare it to in my world.  I mean, what’s the equivalent?

Ok, maybe a sale on Playstations at Walmart the day after Thanksgiving?

Nope.  That always ends in a stabbing.

Plus…that’s not really a religious event.

I mean, when is the last time you heard about 147 people ending up dead on their way to church?

That’s it!

Have you ever noticed that whenever you see a story about a chartered bus driving off a cliff and bursting into flames…it’s a church group going on a trip?

I have the answer…Christians, STAY OFF THE THRUWAY!
